Coldplay launched the greenest tour ever and covered the Costa Rican anthem

The greenest stadium tour ever attempted kicked off in Costa Rica with live debuts, an alien helmet, and a cover of the Costa Rican patriotic song.

Coldplay do not do anything halfway, including saving the planet.

Last night in San Jose, Costa Rica, they kicked off the Music of the Spheres World Tour, and it is the most eco-friendly stadium tour anyone has ever attempted. Direct emissions cut in half compared to their last tour. One hundred percent renewable energy. Solar installations at every single venue.

It was also their first show in Costa Rica ever, and they treated it like one. They debuted Infinity Sign, Humankind, and Biutyful live for the first time. Chris Martin sang Something Just Like This in sign language while wearing an alien helmet, because of course he did. And they covered Patriótica Costarricense, the Costa Rican patriotic song, which just about blew the roof off Estadio Nacional.

The rest was the hit parade:

Higher Power to open, Paradise, The Scientist, Viva La Vida, Clocks, Yellow, A Sky Full of Stars, Fix You to close. H.E.R. joined for Human Heart.

Three continents to go. The greenest tour in history is officially underway.
