Metallica knew exactly what night it was. On Halloween at the Sphere in Las Vegas, the band finally let 'Of Wolf And Man' loose in their Life Burns Faster residency, the Black Album cut making its first appearance of the whole run.
James Hetfield introduced it the only way that song should get introduced: 'Seek the wolf in thyself.' Then the biggest screens on the planet did the rest. A werewolf song, on Halloween, inside a giant glowing ball in Vegas. Sometimes the universe writes the setlist for you.
The residency runs on their No Repeat Weekend format, so songs keep rotating in instead of repeating, and the whole run is sold out. It picks back up November 5 and 7, takes a break, then returns in late January and runs through March 13, 2027.
Thirty-five years after the Black Album, that song still sounds hungry. So does this band.
