Every band dreams about a song taking off on its own. Porch Light is living it. The Minneapolis five-piece just released the official video for Paranoia, a song that pulled 3.5 million views across the band's TikTok in its first three weeks and 2 million streams in the same stretch, running 150,000 plays a day on Spotify alone. That is not a rollout. That is a song escaping the building.

So of course they turned the video into a horror movie. Director Jack Alex Cohen puts the band in a paranoid spiral of shadows, silhouettes, broken glass, and alarms going off at the worst possible moment, which is exactly what the song feels like from the inside. Singer Jackie Uhas can go from a whisper to a wail in one line, and this track uses every bit of that range.

Paranoia lives on Hush, the band's debut album, out now on Mom + Pop. They recorded it at Pachyderm Studios with producer Caleb Wright, who has worked with Samia and Hippo Campus, and you can hear the road in it. This band spent the summer on real stages: Lollapalooza in Chicago, Summerfest in Milwaukee, Shaky Knees in Atlanta. Festival crowds do not fake it for anybody. Porch Light earned those rooms.
Now they are out on their first headlining tour of North America, and the rooms keep selling out. They play Burlington, Vermont tonight with tickets running low, Boston on November 7 is sold out, the Bowery Ballroom in New York on November 8 is sold out, and the homecoming at First Avenue in Minneapolis on November 21 is sold out. When the hometown room goes first, you know it is real. Go watch the video before your friends send it to you and act like they found it.
