Queens of the Stone Age are taking Pixies on tour and my guitar brain is melting

New album Perfecth lands October 30, and the 2027 US tour brings Pixies and Wheelchair Sports Camp along for all 16 dates. Presale signup closes October 25.

Josh Homme does not announce tours quietly. He never has. So of course the news landed with a new album, a Tonight Show performance, and Pixies on the bill. Subtlety is for other bands.

Queens of the Stone Age just announced the Perfecth World Tour, a 16-date US run next May with Pixies and Wheelchair Sports Camp opening every single night. It starts May 1 at Viejas Arena in San Diego and wraps May 24 at TD Garden in Boston, with a May 12 stop at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado in between. Queens and Pixies on one ticket. That is a guitar nerd's dream double bill, and both bands know it.

The tour backs the new album Perfecth, out October 30 on Matador Records. It is their ninth studio record and their first since In Times New Roman... in 2023. Homme produced it with bassist Michael Shuman, and the singles are already out there causing trouble: Easy Street with Nikki Lane, Insignificant Other, and Where the Goth Girls At?, which the band played live for the first time on The Tonight Show on October 21.

“Queens and Pixies on one ticket.”

Ticket math, because somebody always asks. The artist presale starts October 28, but you have to sign up by October 25 at 11:59 pm ET to get in. The general on-sale follows October 29 at 10 am local time. And if you want the full Halloween treatment, HalloQueen listening events hit record stores on October 31 with a limited edition picture disc of the new album.

Before the US run even starts, the band works the rest of the planet: Iceland this week, Japan and Australia to close the year, then the South American Lollapaloozas in March. Busy band. New record, world tour, Pixies in tow. Rock is doing just fine.
