Fifty years. Most bands can't agree on lunch after five. Toto just announced a 50th anniversary tour for 2027, and they're bringing Todd Rundgren along for the UK and Ireland shows. That's how you throw a birthday party.
The band first got together in Los Angeles in January 1977, and the European run starts in June. Rundgren joins for seven shows: Dublin on June 16, Cork on June 17, Glasgow on June 19, Manchester on June 20, Birmingham on June 22, Cardiff on June 24, and London on June 25. Toto also has Japan dates in March, with more European dates running through August.

Steve Lukather and Joseph Williams lead the current lineup, and the catalog holds up on its own. Toto IV won Album of the Year and Record of the Year for Rosanna back in 1982. Africa has passed two billion plays on Spotify. Hold the Line has passed one billion. Two billion plays for one song. I've heard Africa in grocery stores, at weddings, and at one gas station I can picture right now, and it still works every time.
