Graspop's 29th edition turned Dessel into the center of the metal universe for four days, and Thursday set the tone fast. Limp Bizkit closed the North Stage, Within Temptation owned the South Stage for their 30th anniversary, and Megadeth tore through a farewell set that got captured pro-shot: Hangar 18, Sweating Bullets, Tornado of Souls, Peace Sells, Symphony of Destruction, Holy Wars. Going out swinging is an understatement.
Friday belonged to history. Twisted Sister's 50th anniversary reunion took the North Stage while Volbeat closed the South and Breaking Benjamin finally played Belgium for the first time.
Saturday was the new guard:
Bring Me The Horizon and Bad Omens topping the main stages with Architects and BABYMETAL. Sunday went classic with Sabaton, Def Leppard playing Graspop for the fourth time, Alice Cooper, and Electric Callboy.
Thursday, Saturday, and all the VIP tickets sold out before the weekend even started. The Benelux does not play around with its metal.
