Key West is about to have a very good November. The Key West Film Festival turns 15 this year, running November 18 to 22, with screenings at the Tropic Cinema on Eaton Street and an opening night welcome party at the Truman Little White House. Small island, huge names.

The bookends are serious. Paper Tiger opens the festival, starring Adam Driver, Scarlett Johansson and Miles Teller. The Debut closes it, starring Julianne Moore and Paul Giamatti. In between, the festival hands Golden Key honors to David Cross and Edward Burns, who will both be there in person, plus costume designer Amy Roth. Honorees on a small island, in the same rooms as the audiences, is exactly the setup I want.
“Small island, huge names.”

Most festivals spread their talent across a city and a schedule you can't crack. This one puts everybody within a few blocks of each other for five days. That's a working vacation for an interviewer.
Coverage plans include: in-person interviews with filmmakers and honorees, photo coverage from the Tropic Cinema and the opening night party, and daily recaps on moetrainstracks.com through the festival.
