Sun & Stars Returns to Palm Beach County: Opening Night at the Kravis Center, and Two Weeks of Filmmaker Q and As

The Sun & Stars International Film Festival is back for its fifth season, January 28 to February 10, opening at the Kravis Center, with filmmakers staying in the room for live Q and As after screenings.

Palm Beach County gets two full weeks of film to start 2027. The Sun & Stars International Film Festival is back for its fifth season, January 28 to February 10, with opening night at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach. That's a proper room for an opening night.

The draw here is access. The festival runs new and award-winning international films with live filmmaker Q and A sessions, which means the people who made the movies stay in the room and talk. Artistic director Barbara Scharres ran programming at the Gene Siskel Film Center, so the taste level has a track record behind it. The full film list lands before the end of 2026, so the guest names are still to come.

“The draw here is access.”

Two weeks is a long festival, and that's the point. There's time to actually see the films and talk to the filmmakers instead of sprinting between red carpets.

Coverage plans include: in-person interviews with filmmakers around the Q and A sessions, photo coverage from opening night at the Kravis Center, and recaps on moetrainstracks.com across the two weeks.
