Weezer is taking Australia and New Zealand for the first time in 14 years

Six arena dates from Perth to Auckland in February and March 2027, with Third Eye Blind and Fountains Of Wayne along for every show. Fourteen years is a long time between drinks.

Fourteen years. That is how long Australian fans have waited for a full Weezer headline tour, and Rivers Cuomo just ended the drought.

Weezer announced The Gathering Australia and New Zealand Tour on October 28, six arena dates running from Perth to Auckland in February and March 2027. It opens February 24 at RAC Arena in Perth, then Adelaide on February 26, Melbourne on February 28, Sydney on March 2, and Brisbane on March 4, before the finale at Spark Arena in Auckland on March 7.

“Australia, you waited fourteen years. Show up loud.”

And Weezer is not traveling light. Third Eye Blind and Fountains Of Wayne ride along for all six shows, and Auckland is the first live appearance in New Zealand for both bands. Three bands, one bill, and a lot of choruses people have been singing in their cars for twenty plus years.

The lineup walking on stage is the classic four: Rivers Cuomo, Patrick Wilson, Brian Bell, and Scott Shriner, carrying a catalog that runs from the Blue Album and Pinkerton through OK Human, Van Weezer, and the SZNZ run. That is a setlist with no weak corner to hide in.
