EDC Orlando starts today, and Steve Aoki is about to make history with Guru Randhawa

EDC Orlando runs November 6 to 8 at Tinker Field, and on Saturday Steve Aoki brings Guru Randhawa out as the first Indian artist ever on the EDC mainstage to premiere their Sirra remix live.

Listen first: the Steve Aoki remix of Sirra is on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkMwj3msolU and that is the song getting its live premiere tomorrow night in Orlando. Punjabi pop on the biggest dance stage in Florida. This is a big deal and it sounds like one.

EDC Orlando opens today, Friday, November 6, and runs through Sunday, November 8 at Tinker Field. The moment everybody will be talking about lands Saturday, November 7, when Steve Aoki headlines day two and brings out Guru Randhawa. Randhawa becomes the first Indian artist to perform on the EDC mainstage, and this is his first international festival performance, period. First time out, and he walks straight onto that stage. Respect.

“Punjabi pop on the biggest dance stage in Florida.”

Sirra comes off Randhawa's album Without Prejudice, and the numbers on the original are wild: 356 million streams and 550 million YouTube views, per the figures shared with the announcement. Aoki reworked it into a full electronic dance track, and the remix, facilitated by Warner Music India, is out now on the streaming platforms. Saturday night is the first time the two of them play it live together.

Randhawa called representing India and its sound on that stage a massive honor, and said the remix fuses two very distinct worlds. Aoki's take is that electronic music is about breaking boundaries and bringing cultures together. Saturday night is both of those ideas at full volume, in front of one of the biggest festival crowds on the planet.

Florida people, our backyard is stacked this month. EDC takes Tinker Field this weekend, and the Vans Warped Tour rolls into the same grounds next weekend. November in Florida is not festival season. It is a festival month, and it starts today.
