Watch first, because this one is built to be played: the official lyric video for Mother Never Told You, made by Liam Lynch, is on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9oQFpblqzM and it hits as hard as the song does.

Dead Company is out today, November 6, on Warner Records. It is the fifth Royal Blood album and the first since Back To The Water Below in 2023, and it runs ten tracks deep: the title track, Swallow The Bomb, Ten Over Ten, Mother Never Told You, Nowhere All Along, Ride, Rear View Mirror, Take Em All, Tapping Out, and The Closer.
Mother Never Told You is the fourth and final single ahead of the album, and it got the full treatment, premiered on BBC Radio 1 as the Hottest Record before it landed on November 5. Mike Kerr has said the first song written for this record was Swallow The Bomb, that it came out faster and louder than anything they had done before, and that the song itself showed the band which way to go. You can hear that decision on every track. Nothing on this record is standing still.
“Two guys should not be allowed to sound this big.”

I will never get tired of saying this: Royal Blood is two people. Kerr plays bass like it owes him money, Ben Thatcher hits drums like the kit started the fight, and together they sound like a full band having an argument with a stadium. Two guys should not be allowed to sound this big. I am glad nobody stopped them.
The UK headline tour later this month is already sold out, every date: Bristol on November 24, Newcastle on November 25, Manchester on November 27, Glasgow on November 28 and 29, Wolverhampton on December 2, and Brighton on December 4. Dead Company is out now. Play it loud enough that your neighbors learn the choruses too.
