Dola AI opens a free browser tool that turns text and stills into video

Dola AI announced on November 2 that its text-to-video and image-to-video workflow is free to try in a browser at dolai.video, with no software to install. The pitch is drafts and concepts, not finished films.

The install is dead. Dola AI announced on November 2 that its video generator now runs entirely in the browser at dolai.video: type a short scene description or upload a still photo, and the service returns a short AI video clip you can preview and download. No desktop software, no local model downloads, no graphics card of your own required.

The workflow has two doors. Text-to-video builds a clip from a written prompt covering subject, motion, and setting. Image-to-video animates or extends a still you already have. The company lists model options including Seedance where available, and it states plainly that it is not affiliated with ByteDance. Pricing is freemium: early drafts and exploration are free, and higher volume moves to paid tiers.

“The cost of a first draft is collapsing toward zero. The creators who win that shift are the ones with ideas worth drafting.”

Credit the company for honest framing. The announcement sells the tool as a draft machine for social posts, marketing reviews, and classroom demos, and it does not claim to replace a studio. That is the right expectation: a fast way to see whether an idea moves before you spend a shoot day on it.

Between this and open source desks like Mago Studio, the cost of a first draft is collapsing toward zero. The creators who win that shift are the ones with ideas worth drafting.
